SOUTH ON HAYDEN TOWARD CAMELBACK
Scottsdale Shadows lies between Chapparrel Rd. and Camelback Rd. The entrance is the first traffic light after making a right turn at the intersection of Camelback and Hayden Roads.
If you are traveling by car or walking in a Southerly direction from Chapparell Rd. to Camelback Rd. you will see Scottsdale Shadows on the right with its velvety green golf course, tall buildings, and massive acreage.
On the left you will see a series of City Parks and lakes (including a dog park and run). There are walking and bicycle paths, even fishing, together with open fields used for Soccer, Rugby, and other sports. As you approach Camelback on the South East corner you will find a series of ball fields used by little league and during Spring Training, the San Fransisco Giants. The Scottsdale School of Culinary Arts is located on the North East corner directly across the street from The Shadows.

WEST ON CAMELBACK TOWARD SCOTTSDALE RD.
As you travel West from Scottsdale Shadows on Camelback Rd. if you look to the left, you will pass the new "W" Hotel, with the new Best Western on your right. Continue on toward Scottsdale Rd. (about a mile walk from the Shadows), and you will come upon Fashion Square and the Waterfront Shopping Centers and Condominiums. Fashion Square is an enclosed mall, (one of the largest in the United States) boasting many upscale shops and restaurants on three floors. (See more detail below)
On the left is the newly constructed Waterfront complex. The Waterfront consists of 2 upscale High Rise Condominium Buildings, together with a series of retail shops, restaurants and office space. Both above and underground parking is provided. (See more detail below)
A short walk across a bridge and you will encounter, both to your left and right additional restaurants, retail shops and office space. You will also be in Old Scottsdale, with its charming shops restaurants and unique ambiance.

THE WATERFRONT, when totally completed will represent one of the finest areas in the Country for Dining and Shopping. It was just born and has created a great deal of excitement in Scottsdale. You are within walking distance if you like exercise, about 1 mile, and but a 3 minute drive from the Shadows. Everything is new and geared toward all age groups. The condo units in its two high rise buildings start at close to $1,000,000.00 and go up from there. There are many restaurants and upscale shops complementing its neighbor Fashion Square. SCOTTSDALE CIVIC CENTER & MUSEUMS
Scottsdale Civic Center is (if you are hearty) within walking distance from the Shadows and, if you don't wish to put on your sneakers, only a 5 minute drive by car. There are two museums and a theatre at the center that also boasts a museum shop, a number of restaurants, the Scottsdale Public Library, together with fountains, ponds, flowers, together with large grassy areas on which to sit, lounge and enjoy the scenery and great Scottsdale weather.
The Civic Center, hosts, during the year a number of events including juried and non-juried art and craft fairs, culinary festivals, concerts in the park, and many other events of interest (many of which are at no cost).
The Civic Center is located within the OLD TOWN area of South Scottsdale, with its charming, western themed, shops, restaurants and art galleries. Old Town adjoins the west side of Civic Center and provides one with a host of visual, retail and culinary delights, combined with the outstanding weather throughout the year. Adjoining this area is one of the largest indoor Malls in the Country, Scottsdale Fashion Square, and the newly completed Waterfront Area, both with additional shopping and restaurants.
